Training a success in Cambodia and Thailand!

It is a lways a little bit of a culture shock returning to the states after spending time in these countries. Come to think of it, it is a culture shock traveling from Cambodia to Thailand!
We spent about 9 days in Cambodia this time putting on three Christian leadership training conferences. It is estimated that there are now about 600 Christians in the Cambodian armed forces 90% of which seem to be recent decisions. I was amazed at how hungry these men are for the truth. It is like they are now just waking up from a long satanic-induced sleep.
VOA the Voice of America announced that Cambodia has now been voted the #1 most corrupt country in the world and yet in the midst of this corruption and extreme poverty there are men in the military and police who are saying no to the cycle of corruption. Men who are asking us to help them to follow Christ and find other, non-corrupt, ways of making enough money to feed their families. I met a police officer in Battembang who makes only $10 a month and yet he is choosing to be honest and trust the Lord to feed his family. I felt privileged to spend time with these men, men who know what it means to suffer hardship and yet are willing to endure more for the sake of the gospel.
Great things are happening in Cambodia. We are involved in helping these men start chicken farms to supplement their income. We are helping unit commanders develop new Christian-based spiritual, family, and professional development courses for their men, and we are discipling new believers.
Our guy on the ground there, Sareth Duong, believes that Cambodia may be heading for another civil war and if so, our window of opportunity may be small. Please pray for this country and the Christain military and police officers.
